The Little Fountain House is a newly refurbished Garden Studio Apartment, nestled in its own separate patio area to the rear of Weech House in Dawlish. Enclosed by an array of shrubbery, native flowers, climbing roses and newly planted dwarf Cypress trees. Uniquely, Nether Weech comes with its own spectacular bronze fountain, which brings a serene feature to your stay. Lit up in the evening, it provides a romantic scene at any time of year and completely controlled from your studio. The private patio overlooks the vegetable garden and lower garden lawn for Weech House, plus you can see the 11th century church of St Gregory’s. The Little Fountain House used to be our cosy summer house, but we think it’s snug and befitting for all seasons, so we have modernized it with a kitchenette and en suite into the studio. Whether you want to enjoy beach or nature walks, exploring local history and culture, local beaches, be near friends and family or simply relax and unwind, this is the perfect location for a retreat in the country. Weech House, originally built in 1790, was significantly rebuilt in 1911 following a fire in the original thatch. Earlier last century it was occupied by Violet Cavendish-Bentick, the Queen Mum’s Aunt. the Queen Mother visited on several occasions as did our present Queen and her late sister, Margaret. Dawlish centre is a 10-15 min walk and has an array of shops, restaurants and pubs, the town beach, railway, and buses all being approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the house. The hospital and doctors’ surgery are also only 10 minutes’ walk from the house.
