Newenden is right on the Kent and East Sussex border and situated seven miles to the west of Tenterden, seven miles north of Rye and twelve miles east of Battle. The Channel Tunnel is only forty five minutes by road and the spa town of Tunbridge Wells is also a short drive away, about forty minutes. The seaside towns of Hastings Eastbourne, Brighton and Camber Sands are also easy journeys and are excellent day trips. Within the village you can hire rowing boats, canoes and paddle boards from March - October. There are many walks, bike rides and local areas and walks where you are able to exercise your dog, or dogs, off the lead. You have the options of five local eateries within walking distance, including - a pub, two cafes, an Indian restaurant and a takeaway kebab house. All of which offer take away service. There is a fish and chip shop in the next village about a mile away. Newenden is Kent's smallest village. The two way narrow road through the village, which has a 30MPH limit, is about sixty feet away from the twin bedrooms window which is located at the rear of the house. Whilst this road is the A28, it is not classed as a busy road and, due to the very narrow bridge at the southern end of the village; large commercial traffic tends to use other routes. Any traffic noise in this rear bedroom and the rest of the house is minimal, or nonexistent at most times. At night it is very quiet.
