Aldeburgh’s high street has a wide range of restaurants, including a famous fish and chip shop, designer boutiques, art galleries and coffee shops. With the beach just a minute’s stroll there will be no need to use the car, making The Pink House the ideal holiday location.
The house has a delightful dining hall with bi-fold doors opening onto a courtyard garden where guests can enjoy a glass of wine; it also has a wood-burning stove in the living room for chillier evenings, whilst on the first floor is a children’s TV area with floor cushions, bean bags, TV and Playstation.
Aldeburgh, famous for its arts and music summer festival and connections with the composer Benjamin Britten also has an independent cinema, summer theatre, sailing, golf and tennis. If guests should want to venture further afield, it is conveniently located to explore the many delights of the Suffolk Heritage coastline including nearby neighbour Thorpeness, Southwold, Walberswick, Snape Maltings, Dunwich, Minsmere RSPB and Orford, whilst further inland are the historic market towns of Framlingham and Woodbridge. Also convenient to visit NT Sutton Hoo, the Anglo Saxon burial ground site.

Aldeburgh is a town situated on the River Alde on the stunning Suffolk Heritage Coast. It is famous for the annual Aldeburgh Festival, which takes place nearby at Snape Maltings – home to the renowned composer Benjamin Britten. Aldeburgh also hosts a carnival which takes place annually over a long weekend in August. It includes a funfair, mini-marathon, carnival procession, military band and fireworks display.
Whilst in Aldeburgh, make sure you visit the lifeboat station, Moot Hall, Martello Tower, buy fresh fish from the fishermen’s huts on the beach and do not forget to try the famous fish and chip shop.
