The Stable Yard accommodation is uniquely located in the middle of a thriving livery yard surrounded by 120 acres of grass and woodland which guests are welcome to explore. Seven of the studio apartments are laid out with the kitchen, living and sleeping area within the same open plan design. One apartment provides the same facilities but on a split level design with the bedroom located on first floor. This apartment can be linked to another studio apartment through an interconnecting door, ideal for families. A new addition to The Stable Yard is a two bedroom apartment that provides a double and twin bedroom, both with ensuite bathrooms. The living room and kitchen areas are located in separate rooms. The two bed apartment adjoins a new communal sitting area equipped with a contemporary wood burner and leather sofas for those chilly winter months. This area can be exclusively reserved for an additional cost. All the apartments come with complementary toiletries, cereal, jam and butter to make our guests stay just that little bit easier. WiFi is provided free of charge but please consider that the rural location means that upload/download speeds are not as fast as urban locations.
The Stable Yard is a family run enterprise lead by Ed & Carla Fisher along with Carla's mother Linda Thomas and on occasion Ed & Carla's two boys. The ethos of the Stable Yard is very informal and friendly where children are more than welcome and where two scruffy border terriers can often be seen.
Located in rural Bedfordshire, The Stable Yard is located 3 miles of the new A421 nestling between Wootton and The Shelton villages. Once guests have travelled up the tree lined drive they swing through the farm yard, past the Livery Stables and into The Stable Yard. The accommodation is located in three separate buildings with the studio apartments in two blocks of four either side of the two bed apartment and communal sitting area. All guests can use the garden area at the back of the property which looks out over the grass paddocks. For the more adventurous a brisk stroll across a couple of fields will bring you into the village of Wootton. A little more rambling will take you to a couple of pubs of which the Legstraps comes strongly recommended. The rural setting means that wildlife is never far from your door with common buzzards wheeling above the woodland, hares boxing in the spring and the beginning of summer marked by the arrival of swallows that nest in the stabling.
