THE RETREAT Countryside Apartment is a newly converted, self-contained, space within an extended 130-year-old traditional Scottish Cottage nestled in the picturesque Clyde Valley. Set within 2 acres of its own woodland, the accommodation comprises a covered balcony leading to a lounge/living space with a double sofa/sofa bed, a well-appointed kitchenette, a superb large double bedroom, and a stunning, massive modern bath and shower room. Complete with its own barbeque area and use of the croquet lawn, the space is situated in a secluded, fully secure, gated property. This tranquil country environment presents the perfect Urban Escape destination with easy motorway access to the Scottish Lowlands as required.

I have designed and built the space incorporating things I love to have at my disposal when traveling for work or just indulging in a weekend getaway. I have endeavored to create a unique environment for you to enjoy. My life's motto is to take every day as it comes and to enjoy it as best you can! I hope you enjoy your time at the Retreat and will return again and again. With a key lockbox and dropbox, the apartment is designed to be completely hands-off so that guests can check-in and check-out autonomously though I will be around, in the private part of the building, to help with anything you may need.

Set in the Scottish Lowlands, the Tranquil Retreat is extremely accessible, a mere 2 miles off the M74 and only 10 miles from the ancient historic town of Lanark, local to the New Lanark World Heritage UNESCO site and the Scottish Wildlife Trust Waterfall Walk. It is also just moments from the Clyde Walkway, a splendid, waterside cycle and walking route which runs along the River Clyde, from Glasgow to New Lanark, South Lanarkshire. For those without a car, we are readily accessible via a regular train service from Glasgow or Hamilton plus a short taxi ride from the nearby town of Larkhall. Local bus services are also available to surrounding towns and villages.
