We are a family run business having lived at the estate for almost 50 years. It was formerly a preparatory school but now has a thriving livery yard and four holiday lets along with three other cottages.

Vavasour sleeps four and is part of the main house on the historic, private Red House Estate. It is situated just seven miles from York and only fourteen miles from Harrogate but the countryside can be enjoyed right from the front door. There is seasonal use of a large, shared outdoor, heated pool, grass tennis court and croquet lawn. Wonderful walks along the River Ouse, just a forty five minute stroll to a choice of eateries in a nearby village.

We are situated near the banks of the River Ouse with lovely walks towards York and the village of Poppleton where there are a number of pubs for refreshment, a small supermarket and a doctor's surgery. Going along the river the other way will take guests to the village of Moor Monkton where a five mile round walk can be done back to the estate. York is just seven miles away with a park and ride just on the outskirts to avoid any parking hassles in the centre of the city. York is an ancient city with a great amount of places to visit and see and the historic streets to enjoy. Harrogate is a wonderful spa town with shops and gardens to enjoy.
