On the Snowdonia coast, Wavecrest is 2 minutes’ walk from Barmouth Beach with its spectacular mountain views. This elegant guest house offers free WiFi. Guest rooms at Wavecrest have en suite facilities with a shower, hairdryer and toiletries provided. There is also a flat-screen TV, alarm clock, wardrobe and tea and coffee facilities in each room, and some also have sea views. Barmouth has a wide choice of cafés and independent shops, and Wavecrest is just 5 minutes’ walk from the town’s Dragon Theatre, housed in a converted Victorian chapel. It is around 9 miles from Dolgellau, a pretty market town at the opposite end of the Mawddach Trail, a scenic walk along the disused railway line connecting the two towns.
