Built in the 1960's, Westpoint was originally a large public house. Both Westpoint and the Old Shipyard Estate it sits on were originally a ship building site. Westpoint itself has high ceilings and a collection of seven very different apartments. From the positively microscopic (The Studio) to Apartment 1 with its unparalleled sea views from the two ensuite double bedrooms and all those in-between. We love each and every one of them and our returning guests have their favourites. We moved to the Jurassic Coast with our young family nine years ago. The best decisions we ever made. Our love for the landscape, the sea, the cawing seagulls, beers on the beach at sunset, spotting the wildlife, boat rides, the markets, the bohemia and the sea air! The Dorset attitude is more Mediterranean in many respects – we certainly enjoy a slower pace of life down here that’s for sure (or at least we try)! We highly recommend securing holiday cancellation insurance, especially as guidelines can change frequently. Options start at around GBP 20. In the unlikely event of a full lockdown necessitating the closure of Westpoint, we will offer rebooking or refunds as this falls under ‘force majeure.’ For your convenience, Apartment 2 and the Studio can be booked from Friday to Friday, Monday to Friday, or Friday to Monday during the summer holidays. All other accommodations operate on a Saturday to Saturday schedule. What sets us apart from other self-catering properties in West Bay? Nestled directly opposite West Beach on the iconic Jurassic Coast, our location offers immediate access to the stunning South West Coast Path, just steps from the sea. We believe three key factors contribute to a wonderful stay: location, cleanliness, and our commitment to helping guests with any needs that arise. Onsite, you’ll find the West Beach Café Bar, open year-round, offering a delightful dining experience. Each apartment comes with a designated parking space at no extra cost, and we also offer a select number of dog-friendly accommodations. We have three one-bedroom and four two-bedroom apartments available, welcoming families and groups alike. Please note that The Studio, Apartment 1, 2, and 3 do not permit pets, while Apartments 5, 6, and 7 do. If you wish to bring your furry friend, kindly inform us in advance. Westpoint Apartments are located on the seafront in West Bay part of the iconic Jurassic Coast. We are directly across from West Beach on the South West Coast Path and all apartments are steps from the sea. The harbour, kiosks and restaurants and pubs are a minute walk away. Bridport town is one mile away. We have a wonderful terrace at the front that has exceptional views of Lyme Bay and the sunset. West Bay has a lively harbour with boat trips, fishing and RIB rides available.
