Wilderness Apartment is modern open plan eco passive villa with two separate self contained fully equipped apartments with their own kitchens and dining areas. The apartments are linked by a communal hall. The apartments each sleep 4 people and can be booked singly, or together for larger groups. Each apartment has stunning views over a sea loch with their own shore frontage. Situated, just over 2km outside Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK, the town has a wide range of shops, restaurants and pubs.
Rowan, the larger unit sleeps 4 people with 2 bedrooms, which are situated on the ground floor. Stairs lead to a large open plan living area with modern well equipped spacious kitchen and dining area. The living area has stunning views over a sea loch to mountains. The living area has a large LCD TV and blue ray DVD and each bedroom has their own TV.
Juniper, is a split level apartment with bright spacious open plan living area with open plan kitchen and dining area. On this floor there is a large double bedroom with TV and toilet/shower room. A spiral stair case leads to an open plan mezzanine floor with twin beds.
Both apartments have access to a private balcony
The Wilderness is a friendly family run business with the main host is based in Fort William and only a short 5 minutes from the property should you require any assistance. The property was built in 2018 using modern eco construction methods providing high levels of insulation and low energy requirements. Underfloor heating and water heating is provided with a low carbon air source heat pump. There is a charging point for electric vehicles beside private parking areas. A secure store is available for storage of bikes, skis or any outdoor equipment guests wish to bring. Juniper is suitable for disabled guests with the living area, kitchen, one bedroom and shower room on the ground floor. Rowan is not suitable for disabled guests as living area is on the first floor. The property is situated on the south side of Fort William about 1 mile from the town. Fort William is about 110 miles from Glasgow and 130 miles from Edinburgh. It is an ideal base to explore the wild and beautiful West Coast and islands of Scotland.
This area of Scotland is set in some of the most stunning and spectacular scenery in the world. The area is noted for wildlife and habitats. The property overlooks a sea loch where you can see seals, dolphins, basking sharks and even the occasional whale. Iconic species such as Red deer, Golden eagle and White tailed sea eagles can be found locally. Fort William is the Outdoor Capital of the UK with many activities available locally including hill walking, climbing winter and summer, skiing, sailing, white water canoeing and biking. Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain over looks the town and is of international importance for winter and summer mountaineering, drawing climbers from all over the world. Nevis Range, less than 10km from the property is one of Scotland's largest ski areas offering on and off piste skiing. A gondola accesses a mountain restaurant and cafes. It is also the location for both Mountain World Cup and World Championship downhill mountain bike racing every year. There are many miles of off road biking tracks catering for all levels of ability. There are many day trips for cars, bikes and trains around the area, including the famous Harry Potter steam train.
