“House by the Forest – Dvaliauri” was built in the 1980s by my grandfather and father. Over the years, my father has been lovingly restoring it with his own hands. The house features hand-carved wooden items made by my grandfather, creating a warm, authentic atmosphere.
It’s located right at the edge of the forest, where a mountain spring runs beside the house. We have a small vegetable garden and clean, cool air. The house is closed in winter, but from spring to late autumn, it becomes our peaceful retreat — and now, yours too.
We are the Dvali family from Racha. Our guesthouse, "Dvaliauri," takes its name from a local dialect term used for women from the Dvali family who have married and are now visiting their childhood home.
This house was built by our grandfather and his sons. It is a great honor for us to share this family coziness with guests from all over the world.
Warmth, cleanliness, and genuine Georgian hospitality are of great importance to us. This is why "Dvaliauri" is more than just a guesthouse—it is our home and our soul. We believe that every person who stays with us will immediately feel this warmth and coziness.
Please note: This is a family guesthouse. The host is present to welcome and assist guests during their stay.
Zeda Shavra is a peaceful mountain village nestled in the heart of Racha, surrounded by lush forests, crisp air, and panoramic views. This is the kind of place where time slows down — cows stroll past the house, birds wake you up in the morning, and the night sky is full of stars.
Just 2 km away is the beautiful Qvirila Waterfall, one of the region’s natural highlights. Its crystal-clear waters, fresh mountain air, and tranquil surroundings make it perfect for a refreshing walk or a quiet picnic.
For history and architecture lovers, a short drive brings you to the Chelishi Monastery, a 9th–10th century complex hidden in the forest. The village itself has three churches — one restored and two in atmospheric ruins, echoing the deep spiritual past of this land.
If you’re interested in geology, the area around the village is rich with fascinating rock formations. Some layers contain fossilized sea creatures — remnants of the ancient Panthalassa Ocean, which once covered this region millions of years ago.
This is a place for those who want to unplug, reconnect with nature, and experience the authentic rhythm of Georgian mountain life.
