We'll be delighted to welcome you, share our knowledge of the Guadeloupe region with you, and tell you all about the places to visit, both tourist attractions and wilderness spots.
Pointe-Noire is an essential stopover during your stay in Guadeloupe, and its convenient location means you can visit the whole of Guadeloupe and its dependencies (islands).
Pointe-Noire is located on the west coast of the island of Basse-Terre, known as the leeward coast. Set between the sea and forested mountains, it's a town that's remained true to itself, with a main street, old Creole houses and small and medium-sized shops.
In the town center, you can stroll along the main street (rue de la république), see the church and the waterfront.
A little to the south, below, the Caribbean beach, although very rocky in places, offers a beautiful panorama and a few restaurants in the background.
Further north, towards Deshaies, you'll find the beach of Petit Anse, ideal for snorkeling.
There's plenty to see in the surrounding area, including the Maison du Cacao, the Saut d'Acomat waterfall, the leeward coast dwelling and Guadeloupe's mountainous and protected natural park (rivers, waterfalls)...
