Chronis Family villa was built from Dr Takakis at 1914. From 1928 till 1958 it serves as the local police station and is linked with the modern history of Crete. The property was bought by the father of the current owner. The first renovation took place on 1995 and the second on 2020. This is a stone built house with tiled roof a large garden and private parking space. The property is a sample of Neoclassical architecture, perfect for couples, families or group of friends. The house is divided in two independent apartments and can accommodate up to 10 people. The ground floor apartment offers a bedroom with a double bed, a kitchen, living room area with TV and dinning table and bathroom with shower. Its wooden ceiling highlights the traditional character of the property. The kitchen is equipped with stove and hot plates and refrigerator. We also provide a kettle, coffee machine and toaster. We offer our guests all appliances and equipment necessary to cook a delicious meal after a long day of exploring the island and its beaches.

This unit offers also a living room with TV and a small balcony from where you can enjoy views of the village. Both apartments have AC units Wifi is available for our guests free of charge The village of Krousonas is located at about 22 km from Heraklion and 17 km from the beach of Amoudara. Right across the house there is a traditional bakery from where you can buy traditional wood baked bread and all kinds of pastry, sweet and salty. At about 350 meters away you can find a traditional tavern a grocery store and coffee shops. The village and surrounding area has many to offer. Very close to the village there is the nunnery of Santa Irini which is inhabited by 15 nuns. Guests can also visit the plateau of Krousonas (the locals call it Livadi). The Livadi Plateau of Krousonas is located on the eastern slopes of Psiloritis, 9km west of the village Krousonas and 35km southwest of Heraklion. It is a beautiful place to visit, especially in spring when the 300.000 pear and apple trees are blooming. The quiet green plateau with the background of the bare peaks of Psiloritis is a unique landscape.

Something surprising is that many churches have been built by locals, with the oldest church being that of St. John with the amazing view to Heraklion, called as the “balcony of Crete”. Please note that we do not allow our guests to use the washing machine and dryer on their own. If you need your clothes to be washed please let us know and we will arrange for the maid to come and colect them. She will wash them, dry them and fold them and deliver them to you Please note also that we would prefer our guests not to wear shoes inside the apartments. Please use instead the slippers we provide.
