In the main tourist area on the westside of Heraklion. The neighbourhood is very friendly. A short 10min walk will take you to the beach of Amoudara, traditional taverns, souvenir shops, markets, bars, cafes, bakeries, butcher, shops, car rental agencies, spas, clinics, pharmacies, cinemas & so much more! Amoudara is a huge beach 7 km west of Heraklion, which led to the tourism development of the entire region. The options here are many, especially in the summer. Swimming and water sports in a well-organized beach, and quiet corners for the more solitary. Coffee drink or eating literally on the beach is an experience.
