The walled town of Monemvassia is an open air museum of buildings, squares, churches gardens, shops etc. Our houses are located in a very quiet and safe neighborhood, surrounded by walkways and with a lot of greenery (trees and bushes). It is like finding yourselves in a medieval village, while within 50m you are at the busy market street, where all shops are located (taverns, shops with local products, gifts, fine jewelry, local crafts etc) The Portello (the exit of the walled town to the sea) is at 20m from the house, a romantic sea view during winter, a unique bathing place during summer with background the city walls. Walk on the city ramparts with great views to the town and the sea below or towards the Light House outside the east Gate recently restored . At the main square visit the archaeological collection at an Old Mosque, the main Church of Elkomenos Christos and hanging on the upper walkway the Church of Myrtidiotissa. The archaeological site of the Upper Town is reached through a steep path, with panoramic village and sea views. On the Upper Town visit the medieval Church of Saint Sophia a very important monument of medieval Greece as well as indicative neighborhoods recently restored. it has been recently restored
