Kitta, the “village of many towers”—our Koita—is a traditional settlement with 11 towers and 28 tower houses. It is a peaceful destination and an ideal base for daily excursions, with easy access to nearby beaches and tourist attractions. Highlights include the Monastery of Faneromeni, the Caves of Diros and Alepotrypa, and picturesque towns such as Areopoli (20 km), Limeni, Oitylo, Gythio, Mezapos, and Gerolimenas (4 km). Also within reach are Alika, Almyros, Vatheia, Kiparissos, Marmari, Porto Kagio, Cape Tainaron, Flomochori, Kotronas, Kokkala, Alypa, and many other places shaped by stone and olive trees—hallmarks of Laconian Mani.
