Plaza apartment is located in the Venetian Port of Chania. It consists of three guest rooms, one two-bedded room, a lounge area where someone can rest or relax accommodating up to three to people as well as the so-called ''sahnisi'', which is a small room with a sofa bed. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. A lot of initial features have been preserved, like the Turkish fireplace, where they used to make the coffee, the Venetian chimney at the side of the house, the wooden kiosk and remnants, which took place in 1932. The house is bright, air-conditioned including wi-fi. There is also a wooden staircase leading to the terrace enabling you to enjoy the wonderful view of the old city, drinking your morning coffee or sipping your cocktail at the sunset. It is situated exactly in front of the big square of the Old Port, with a view of the old city with its beautiful cafe and taverns. It is on the height of first floor. That gives a very beautiful view of the old Venetian harbor , but you have to manage some stairs. Also because of the central location there are some bars around and it can be noisy, especially weekends! The house is fit for rent all year round.
I am teacher of mathematics, who works at tourism during the summer months. I like walking up to the beautiful Cretan mountains, i love traveling around the world and sailing.
The Venetian port of Chania with its lighthouse, is a famous landmark of the city. It is difficult o come across locations such as these, surrounded by a veil of historical memories, which unfold in front of our eyes with exceptional craftmanship through the architecture of the buildings surrounding the Venetian port carrying scents from previous eras. These elements of time seduce the visitor into a nostalgic game of senses, a misture of Est and East. At the same time the restaurants , the cafeterias and bars add to the charm of the Old Port giving a sense of comfort an vividness all year round. The building next to the house was an old Turkish almshouse which belonged to the nearby mosque. In the end of the 19th century the building was converted to a hotel, which was the biggest in town and it was named Great Britain. Later its name was changed to Bristol, Plaza. On the ground floor housed one of the best restaurants in town. A bit further, the characteristic building is a distinctive example of Turkish architecture. The 'Yali mosque' is considered to be the oldest Muslim construction of Crete. Today the small interior of the building is mainly used as an art exhibition area.
