Lygia is a small fishing port on the east coast of Lefkada. It is located only 5km away from Lefkas (south), and it is also in a good position from the capital city of Lefkada, which offers plenty of amenities and attractions for tourists.
When you start from Lefkas to Nidri, after the place Kariotes, you are coming to Lygia which is well connected with other parts of the island, because from there there are bus lines to the south and to the north of the island. The town is small and perfect for a peaceful holiday. It consists of the main street (highway), along which are shops and restaurants and also of a part with a small marina where are numerous anchored yachts. Next to the marina is a promenade with several restaurants and cafes.
The beach in the city is narrow and with large gravel on the shore and in the water. The most beautiful part of the beach is located at the exit of Lygia towards Nidri, where the beach is larger and has plenty of natural shade, but it is along the highway. This beach is part of the city and it's very close to all the accommodation facilities. The beach has a view on the fortress of Agios Georgios. Lygia is a small place for a peaceful holiday, but
