Villa Carlotta is one of the most beautiful and original kept historic mansion of Szilvasvarad with a wonderful 3600 square meters garden full of fruit trees and garden furniture. The whole property is not only my home but is shared with guests. We offer a common kitchen where guests can cooks, provided with fridge, microwave, gas cooker dishes, glasses... all you need. There is not TV in the agriturismo, not even in my home. The most furniture are original from the time was built the house. If you are looking for modern accommodation.... this is not the right place for you. The agritourism formula means getting acquainted with guests, having breakfast or just having a drink together, all at the same table, exchanging opinions and telling each other stories. Music never miss around the garden. I live here with my two cats: Grace & Frankie. I am a great cooker, specialized in Italian traditional food (as grand mama kitchen). Villa Carlotta is a farmhouse from the late 1800s, under the protection of the Hungarian Fine Arts, which we bought and renovated first time over 27 years ago.

Hi, My name is Laura, I am italian but resident in Hungary since august 1996. Actually, I live half year in Hungary and half year in Italy, due to work. I have 3 houses in Europe, two in Hungary (one in Szilvasvarad and one in Budapest) and third one in Italy (Tortona). All the houses are full of objects of my travels and with a warm atmosphere. When I am away, I rent them. My hobby is music, cuisine and conversation. I speak several languages and play piano.

Szilvásvárad lays on the western side of the Bukk-mountains and the home of the famous lipicai horse-breeding. It is 31 kilometers from the historical town of Eger. The Szalajka-valley connecting to Szilvásvárad is the most beautifull high-hill area with scenic waterfall. From the centre of Szilvásvárad you can explore the area with the forest railway. On your journay either by rail or on foot you can admire trout ponds, the Wild Animal display, the Rock spring, the Open-air Forest Museum, the Forestry Museum, the Guardian of the Carpathians, the Gloriett glade, the Veil-waterfall and the Prehistoric man's Cave at Istálloskő. The town’s most significant monument is the snow-white round reformed temple, which was built around 1825, in classicist style. The family manor of the Pallavicini operates as a hotel these days. Near the manor, the base-stud can be found, where after admiring the stallion, we can get to know the history of the lipicai horses in a small museum. Szilvásvárad is an international holiday resort since 1971, but it become really well known since the organising of the VIIth Coach-driving World Championship in 1984. The Lipicai Equastrian festival is organised here every summer. Beside the race, the festival is accompanied with spectacular musical and cultural events.
