Tianyar is a fishing community on Bali's north coast. The North beach is noted for it's peace and quiet, as oppose to the South Beach. To the east are several diving communities including a US Navy shipwreck in Tulamben, 20Km, accessible from shore dives. Amed, a bit further east is a lively dive town with the associated bare and restaurants. To the west is Lovina, 57km,noted for dolphin watching. Lovina is a fairly good sized city with numerous restaurants, bars, beach resorts, and the tourists that come with it. The nearest cities to Tianyar are Singaraja on the west and Amlapura on the East.
The area of beach between Lovina and Tulamben is peaceful black sand beaches. The water is generally calm, no surfing here. Perfect for snorkeling and family swimming.
From the Villa you can see mount Batur and take a day trip if you want a great ocean and lake view. There are several hot springs in the area.
Between Lovina and Tulamben you will find numerous "Warungs" which is sort of like a cafe. Many are on the beach including Lah Pasih (50 meters) and Kayu Kayu (3Km), both serve US, European, and Indonesian food, beer, and Arak (a Balinese liquor the makes a great mimosa or mojito).
