Hi, I’m Putra — I was born and raised in Bukit Lawang, and our family has lived here for generations. I’ve been a jungle guide for over 20 years, and I love welcoming travellers from around the world to experience our beautiful village and rainforest. We started Fun Family Guest House to offer a friendly, comfortable place for guests to stay before and after exploring the jungle. I enjoy sharing stories about local wildlife, village life, and helping people discover the nature that makes Bukit Lawang so special. When I’m not guiding treks, I enjoy playing guitar and spending time with my family. In August 2025, I also opened Ecotourism Bukit Lawang Bungalows — a peaceful guesthouse located deeper in the jungle, offering guests the chance to relax in privacy and connect with nature. Fun Family Guest House is a locally run riverside stay in the heart of Bukit Lawang, just a short walk from the entrance to Gunung Leuser National Park. Our guesthouse offers simple, comfortable rooms — some with private balconies overlooking the river — making it a great place to relax before or after your jungle adventure. Guests are welcome to enjoy local dishes at our on-site restaurant. From here, you can explore the town on foot, visit the local market, or enjoy a walk along the riverbank. Whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, or with family, we’ll do our best to make you feel at home. We’re also happy to help arrange jungle treks, river tubing, village tours, or airport transfers — just ask!

Our guesthouse is located in a quiet, family-friendly part of Bukit Lawang, just a short walk from the entrance to Gunung Leuser National Park — one of the last places in the world to see wild orangutans. It’s the perfect base for guests who want to experience jungle trekking, explore local nature, or simply relax by the river. The neighbourhood has a relaxed village atmosphere, with small restaurants, local shops, and places to buy handmade souvenirs. We think it's the ideal place for travellers who want to connect with the local community and discover the real Bukit Lawang.
