Our lovely modern spacious flat is close to the beach, the promenade, coast walks, great views, the city, restaurants, cafes, bars, buskers, shopping, cathedral, museum, library, bike hire, theatre, cinema, traditional music and dance pubs, historic interests, national and local transport, and most importantly, the local community.
Fáilte! (Welcome!) I'm from Galway City, I know it well and love it - it has so much to offer as an urban seaside spot. Great seafood, traditional and contemporary music and dance in pubs and bars, festivals of art, literature, film, food, local culture, racing and historical events. Galway is also the European Capital of Culture for 2020. The flat is one minute from the beach and a short healthy coastal jaunt either by hired bike from the bike station nearby, or on foot . On the 'Prom' you will meet many of the local community for whom prom-walking is a bit of an addiction. Make sure you kick the wall at the BlackRock end as local tradition has had it for many many years. Watch out for our President on the Prom, when he returns home to Galway! I have travelled extensively and totally understand why people want a nice, friendly, easygoing place to visit where there's loads to do and see. I love sea-swimming and have the good fortune to be able to swim all year round at BlackRock with the other 'Year Round' swimmers. I hope you enjoy your stay in our friendly and hospitable city.
