Our property is a detached building with parking area to the front. The holiday apartment is quite separate from our private living area which is to the rear of the house, so guests can enjoy that privacy. The apartment consists of two ensuite bedrooms with double beds; there is also a sofa bed in the livingroom and a fold down bed is available if required. The livingroom/dining room is spacious and comfortable. It features a wallmounted electric fire and 42inch flatscreen TV. Leading from the livingroom is the kitchen which is fully equipped with fridge, oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a laundry area with washing machine and drying facility at the rear of the entrance corridor. The apartment has oil-fired central heating throughout. Bed linen and towels are supplied.
My husband and I are semi-retired and enjoy meeting the many visitors to our accommodation. We love to share our knowledge of the local area with its many amenities - beaches, parks, favourite walks and places to visit as well as recommending local hotels, restaurants and pubs.
We are also familiar with Inishowen and many places in Northern Ireland which we visit regularly.
Whilst staying in our apartment, one can enjoy a drink or two in the traditional pub and restaurant,, Drift Inn which is conveniently situated across the road from us. It also has an Off-licence adjacent to it. There are also other restaurants and hotels nearby.
Other amenities in the vicinity include a filling station and convenience store which serves hot food from early morning until afternoon; A chemist and Tourist Office are opposite.
One of our favourite places to go for a quiet sit when the weather permits, is just across the road from our house, in the recently created Amazing Grace park. It is a lovely 'garden' with plants, a large pond, seating areas. There are information boards telling the story of John Newton and his connection with Lough Swilly and the famous song 'Amazing Grace'.
We are lucky to live near the sea within easy walking distance of two beaches. A favourite walk for visitors and locals alike is through Swan Park along the Crana river and beyond to Fr. Hegarty's Rock.
