Welcome to Kamp Kamouflage Kanha
To live in the jungle, one must blend in.
Kamp Kamouflage Kanha is a small step to live in the jungle while living with the jungle.
Our rooms are basic yet spacious and our bathrooms are clean.
Spread across 3.74 acres of typical Kanha woodland, Kamp has more than 200 hundred trees of different local varieties. We have more than 20 different varieties of grasses and shrubs as well and we have added more than 300 saplings of Bamboo, Neem, Tamarind, Mango, Jamun, Amla, and Nimboo. All our plantation is in a random and apparently unplanned fashion. The layout of the land is unaltered and in its natural condition. The overall effect is that of being in the jungle and not one of being in a resort or hotel.
That’s because Kamp Kamouflage is not a Hotel or Resort.
It is a Home.
Kamp is the dream of Baru and Ameya.
Baru built Kamp brick by brick and learned local civil engineering in the process. For him this is the dream life.
Baru says “I basically want to save and return this small patch of land to the jungle, The Kamp is the by-product of that goal.”
Ameya is an ace ornithologist.
Ameya says “if I can make one child understand the value of one tree, that will be one life time lived for me.”
The Homestay
Perched on the edge of Mukki Khatia Road, the Kamp is Kamouflaged by the Kanha National Park to the east and north, forest lands of Village Parsatola on the south and the rice fields of Village Sarekha on the west.
Built in the local tradition with mud and bricks the main Makaan of Kamp has a pleasant veranda and semi enclosed living room that works as a sit out area, tea break space and peaceful reading room.
The high and heavy gauge metal roof has been thatched with local grass which regulates the temperature and keeps things cool in the summer.
The overall effect is one of a Jungle or plantation home.
Our rooms are basic yet spacious and our bathrooms are clean. The main Makaan is appointed with two large 400 square foot rooms which are kitted to accommodate a family each. Parents with two kids or three adults can comfortably enjoy their stay here. The washrooms have western systems and are highlighted with handmade washbasins.
Kamp Kamouflage is a Jungle Homestay that belongs to Ameya Gokarn and Rajesh Baruah.
