Outside, the wind rises and trees sway like drunks going home. To the north, the Himalayas beckon as the fireplace warms cold fingers after a walk to the monastery. Up a quiet side road called Hilltop Road. Past Crookety and just before Albela Boys' Home. Old colonial houses, walks and mountains on view from nooks and crannies sets this place apart. The Roerich centre is nearby. The road past the Army golf course offers views of Kanchanjanga and the eastern Himalayas and on a good winter day, you are likely to see the snow over Bhutan. A walk to the Nature Trail offers views of the Tista and Relli valleys. Explore Chibbo's roads through Kalimpong's old villages. Wade through the bustle of Kalimpong's markets on Wednesday and Saturday and get to know our people. Take trips to nearby Sikkim and Darjeeling - or just loll around if you're looking for a rest. Regular taxis ferry you to and from the town centre within ten minutes.
