When you enter Apartment "Amphitheatre", the first thing that strikes you is an amazing mural of Puccini's Tosca, painted by a local artist which undoubtably contributes to the charm and character of the whole apartment. The rose theme of the mural is carried through to one of the two bedrooms and decorates the arch above the window set in typical Tuscan brickwork. I take great pride in this property left to me by my Italian parents and it has just been completely redecorated and painted. The apartment has 2 bedrooms with newly installed air conditioning. There are 2 bathrooms one of which is en-suite. The spacious apartment is perfect for 2/4 people and there is comfortable sofa bed for an extra guest.. The terrace with table looks onto the gardens on the rear. The kitchenette is equipped with everything you need for home cooking although many guests prefer to try the amazing local restaurants and gastronomie. The neighbourhood is peaceful but unbelievably lively. There are restaurants, icecream shops, caffes and bar of all kinds. The shopping is amazing and art, culture and history is everywhere. The centre is traffic free except for bikes which are easy to hire and especially good fun is the ride around the medieval walls of lucca. Right outside the apartment is the Anfiteatro which is amazing. For music lovers Lucca is the home of Puccini and there are many concerts to attend. If you prefer more modern music in July there is an international music festival where Neil Young, Steve Wonder and many others have played. The place is buzzing and so central for visiting Pisa, Florence etc. Come and see for yourself. You won't regret it!
