La Darbia stands in the hills overlooking the calm waters of Lake Orta in northern Piedmont. The small hamlet is surrounded by centuries-old woods, gardens, vineyards and vegetable gardens, and it is in this unique setting, with its refined yet relaxed atmosphere, that the 20 apartment-style suites are located.
Carefully designed, using natural materials and textural colours, all suites offer a comfortable living area with kitchen. From the spacious terraces and garden patios, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Lake Orta and the enchanting Island of San Giulio. A perfect retreat for both, couples and families.
Our guests just need to relax, we take care of everything. From the rich breakfast, with local products, served every morning directly in the flat, to the possibility of room service, choosing from our garden menu delicious dishes to enjoy at any time of day.
And after a day discovering the area, aperitif time becomes unique, tasting a glass of wine surrounded by lush vegetable gardens and admiring the enchanting view of the lake and Monte Rosa.
And the spell continues at our restaurant 'La Cucina', a romantic place where you can enjoy cuisine that exalts the Piedmontese tradition but interpreted in a contemporary way. Creative and elegant dishes skilfully created by Chef Matteo Monfrinotti.
Tucked away among lush gardens are the heated saltwater pool with solarium, relax area and massage room. Yoga classes with breathtaking views of the lake and mountains are offered to guests, and for kids there is a small playground in the shade of old trees.
Owners Gian Carlo and Matteo have brought this rural settlement back to life thanks to the intervention of their architectural firm, transforming it into a refined hamlet. Attention to detail and conviviality are their ingredients to offer guests a unique experience.
Set between the green Alps and the vast forests of the hills, Lake Orta is one of the most evocative lakes in Italy. A magical place whose shores are dotted with small villages where time seems to stand still. And it is precisely on the shores of this lake that stands the charming town of Orta San Giulio, a village of medieval origins with an elegant and relaxed atmosphere but also a destination for design enthusiasts. On a promontory behind the village stands the Sacro Monte, twenty chapels immersed in nature illustrating the life of Saint Francis.
The upper Piedmont region, rich in pastures and alpine pastures, hills and plains, is known for its food and wine products of extraordinary quality. It is here that La Darbia was born, more precisely it is in Vacciago, a hamlet of the municipality of Ameno, a small and ancient village nestled in the green hills overlooking Lake Orta.
