Our Bed & Breakfast is located in the heart of the Portuense neighborhood, south of central Rome, an area known for its lively and creative atmosphere, with a dynamic cultural scene that allows you to fully immerse yourself in Roman life and feel like an integral part of the city. The nearby historic district of Testaccio and the neighborhoods of Ostiense, Europa, and Gianicolense are all easily accessible by public transport. One of the distinctive features of the neighborhood is the presence of numerous green spaces, making it a popular destination for city dwellers seeking refreshing walks and outdoor sports. Among these, Villa Doria Pamphilj Park stands out, once a country estate of a Roman noble family and now the second-largest public park in Rome (184 hectares). A fun fact: the garden served as the setting for the Pope's leisurely walks in Paolo Sorrentino's "The Young Pope." The area saw significant development after World War II, with the construction of the Pietra Papa plain and the new district along Viale Marconi. Today, the neighborhood's center lies along this street, full of shops and cafes. The nearby Ostiense neighborhood is one of Rome's youngest and liveliest areas. Its underground charm, immortalized in the famous movie "Le fate ignoranti" by Ferzan Özpetek, is a focal point for Roman nightlife. It is loved by international youth for its creative cuisine restaurants, characteristic bistros, live music venues, and trendy nightclubs. Easily accessible by public transport is also the Testaccio district, a genuine and popular soul of Rome. Much like Trastevere, it is beloved by both Romans and tourists for its numerous characteristic trattorias where you can savor excellent traditional dishes. Our Bed & Breakfast is well connected both to the historic center of Rome and to the main transport hubs, making it a convenient and strategic starting point for exploring the city. 📍 To the Historic Center: To fully enjoy your stay in Rome, you can easily get around using city buses and the metro. From the B&B, you can reach the historic center by taking bus no. 44, which will take you directly to Teatro Marcello, Piazza Venezia, and the Capitoline Hill (Roman Forum). Alternatively, bus no. 228 will take you to the “Trastevere” train station, where you can catch metropolitan and regional trains to reach St. Peter’s Basilica and Termini Station in no time! ✈️ From Fiumicino International Airport: We recommend taking the regional train, which departs every 15 minutes, to the “Trastevere” station. From there, you can take bus no. 786, 773, or 228 and get off at the “Portuense/Villa Flora” stop, which is just a 3-minute walk from the B&B. 🚗 By Car: Our property is easily accessible by car, as it is located outside Rome’s Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL). The B&B does not have private parking, but there is a paid garage just a 3-minute walk away. Alternatively, street parking in Rome is generally available either for a fee (blue lines) or free of charge (white lines). We recommend always checking the vertical signage in the area where you park to avoid any unpleasant surprises!
