Surrounded by the hills of the Val di Cecina on one side and those of the Val di Cornia’s on on the other, Seme di Luna (Moon Seed) is a wonderful cottage which has been recently restored in perfect Tuscan style, sprinkled with a hint of a personal touch given by its owners, Noemi and Thomas.
A few minutes walking from the historical village of Canneto, recommended by the Italian Touring Club; the cottage is entirely paved in cotto and includes three double bedrooms, each featuring a private bathroom and a beautiful shared lounge and kitchen area, with a large marble sink, induction cookers and a majestic fireplace.
From the windows you can enjoy the surrounding peaceful nature: olive and oak trees, rush brooms, bamboo and cypress trees.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the area around the house to relax, have a picnic or go for a walk.
With care and dedication, Noemi and Thomas did their best to give each room a unique soul, in the hope to offer their guests a superb stay with the best comforts.
Most of the decor comes from recycled material, like the beds, entirely made with pallets by Thomas, or the furniture, which Noemi brought back to life giving it her personal touch.
SEMLA: the Etruscan goddess protectress of the agriculture gives her name to this joyful double room, where green is the main colour used. Every detail recalls nature, from the lamps to the decorations. Facing East, this is the first bedroom to be touched by the morning light.
LOSNA: devoted to the Etruscan goddess protectress of the Moon and the tides, this elegant double room will lull you in a blue wave. The room, facing West, is decorated in naval style, and offers a beautiful view of the sunset.
FERONIA: also facing West, the widest bedroom with the largest bathroom of the house takes its name from the Etruscan goddess protectress of the woods and fertility from whom it also takes its fiery and ethnic personality.
Noemi is originally from Florence, while Thomas comes from Bayonne, a picturesque village in the French Basque Country. The couple met in Cambodia in 2016 and, after a few years of travelling together around the world, they finally decided to put down roots in Tuscany, where Art and nature perfectly blend together. One of their goals is to return the hospitality they received while travelling by providing their guests with the most authentic Tuscan experience. The couple has always felt a strong connection with nature, and always dreamed about living somewhere far away from the city smog, trying to be as self-sufficient as possible. This is the reason why, after building up a house that reflects their personalities, they are still proving themselves that everything is possible. The couple grows their own vegetable garden, takes care of all their plants and are now, giving life to a unique piece of heaven: a place where their Breton Patxaran and their cats Freya and Biagio can run and play freely.
The easiest way to get to the house is by car. You shall find the entrance spot just behind the gas station -the only one within 20km-: drive along the dirt road until you find a wide parking area on your right and a wooden gate in front of you. Park your vehicle here, and walk through the bamboo to get to your favourite destination.
In a few minutes on foot you can get to the village of Canneto, where you can find a’s minimarket,, a bar and a pizzeria.
Only 30 km from the Etruscan Coast and some of the best wild beaches in Tuscany, Seme di Luna is located at the crossroad of infinite destinations -not only the seaside, but also some wonderful natural attractions, historical villages like Volterra and many food and wine destinations.
Depending on the season, the area offers multiple places of interest for mushroom, truffle and asparagus picking.
