We'll welcome you to a traditional village house in the historic center of Sutri, a picturesque village in the Tuscia region surrounded by greenery.
The entrance opens onto a small courtyard that opens onto a quaint, car-free alley, right in the historic center and near the main square, the beating heart of Sutri. With its bars and restaurants, it's an ideal meeting place for a coffee, an aperitif, or simply a moment of relaxation. Due to its location, facing the alley and facing the Cassia Valley, the house is particularly quiet and peaceful.
The house, whose solid and sturdy tuff construction dates back to the 19th century, is arranged on two levels that separate the sleeping area from the living area.
Characteristic exposed beams, a large fireplace, and a delightful panoramic rooftop terrace with no opposite windows are the home's most notable features.
On the lower floor, there is a spacious bathroom with shower, a bedroom/study, and a large built-in kitchen that opens onto the living/dining area, featuring a characteristic large fireplace.
On the upper floor, there are two bright bedrooms—one single and one double—a bathroom, and a terrace.
The house is furnished and equipped to ensure a comfortable stay, whether for a short vacation, a longer stay, or for work. If you're traveling for work, you can focus on the two workstations specifically designed for teleworking, without cluttering up the living room. Our ambitious goal is for you to feel at home.
However, we ask you to respect a few rules so that your future guests can find a clean, tidy, and fragrant environment: smoking is prohibited; parties and banquets are not permitted.
Independent heating. 200 Mbps fiber optic internet included.
Languages spoken: Italian, English, French, and German.
Dear guest, I, Gaspare, and my wife Rosaria are truly delighted to welcome you to the home where we have happily lived for many years. Having now moved to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for work, we want our home to continue to thrive and be lived in.
You can reach us by phone or text message at any time of day. We'll be happy to listen to your requests and address your concerns. You can communicate with us in Italian, English, French, and German. Through the lady you'll meet upon check-in, we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.
The village of Sutri, founded older than Rome — earning its name as the "very ancient city" — stands in a privileged position on a hill overlooking the archaeological area below, the Parco dell'Antichissima Città di Sutri (about 200 meters, on the opposite side of the Via Cassia), which boasts the well-preserved remains of an ancient Roman amphitheater and a striking rock-cut Mithraeum. A pleasant stroll through the verdant park will allow you to visit the Etruscan Necropolis and Villa Savorelli, whose 18th-century structure has been restored to its former beauty.
The short distance from Rome (38 kilometers)—to which it is well connected, including by bus, via the convenient Cassia Veientana, a branch of the centuries-old Roman Via Cassia—and the proximity to the picturesque towns of Tuscia make Sutri an ideal strategic location for numerous excursions.
In the summer, you can reach numerous volcanic lakes (Vico 15 min/10 km, Trevignano 15 min/12 km, Bolsena 60 min/50 km), whose beaches are equipped to welcome swimmers, and the sea (Santa Severa 50 min/47 km). Lazy people can also find fun and refreshment at the nearby Fontevivola aquatic center (3 min), ideal for adults and children with its pools and equipped green areas.
About a 30-minute drive away, near Viterbo, are precious and beneficial thermal springs and the famous "Terme dei Papi" spa, known since ancient times for the therapeutic properties of their waters.
The 'Golf Nazionale' golf course (formerly known as 'Le Querce Golf Club'), one of the largest and most challenging in Italy, is about a 10-minute drive away (7 km); in Monterosi (12 km) there is another golf course: 'Terre dei Consoli'.
