In the southern part of the Hyblean plateau, between the centuries-old carob trees and the Mediterranean scrub, stands the unique shape of Villa Cammarana, a noble eighteenth-century country house. From the neoclassical facade, climbing the ancient external staircase, you reach the main floor with the large terrace, which overlooks the extraordinary landscape of the Hyblean countryside; on the horizon, the sea with the Punta Secca lighthouse and the Greek ruins of Kamarina. The en plein air moments on the terrace, to be spent amiably between lunches, lounges and dinners under the stars, are joined by the more intimate ones inside the house, featuring ceilings with exposed wooden beams and pitch stone floors with carpet decorations . The large living-dining room is the trait d'union with the other rooms: on one side, two parallel openings lead to the ancient kitchen, made modern and functional, and to a large double bedroom with bathroom and shower, while on the other side of the room there is another double bedroom. In this room, embellished with an ancient fireplace and equipped with a private bathroom with bathtub, as in a game of Chinese boxes, another single bedroom opens up.

The beautiful country house, overlooking a typical beam and a well-kept garden adorned with palm trees, agaves and cascading bougainvillea, is ideal for those who want to relive the prideful sensation of a holiday in the style of Sicilian landowners, completely immersed in the odorous silence of this magnificent estate. All this, is countered by the intriguing atmospheres of the nearby baroque and aristocratic cities such as Ragusa-Ibla, Modica, Scicli and Noto. In the farms in the area you can eat hot ricotta and buy the famous Ragusano Dop and provola, typical Ragusan cheeses. The area is ideal for relaxing walks in the countryside. A path in full Mediterranean scrub also leads to the neo-Gothic Castle of Donnafugata. It is advisable to reach Villa Cammarana by car as it is located in a district not covered by public transport.
