The house is a typical, Tuscan medieval fortified farmhouse. Over the years it has been carefully restored. It is completely surrounded by forests, pastures an olive grove and gardens filled with plants, fresh herbs (thyme, basil, rosemary etc) and flowers. You can see for miles over the green rolling hills of this lovely part of the Provincia of Siena.
In name of Philip and Carla, the local caretakers Marco and Lumi take very good care of the house, gardens and the pool and especially the guests. Lumi loves to cook so you can always ask her if she had time to cook for you and your guests. And Marco has organized many top Italian evenings with pizza's home made in our restored pizza oven. Marco can also drive you around to the local sights or from and to the airports and trainstation.
To explore the historic centre, head through one of the doors that’s still standing: either Porta al Sole, facing the endless fields outside the village, or Porta al Leccio, looking out at the Lecceto forests. The town is home to the Cacciaconti family’s majestic castle, with a tall tower in white stone and crenelated walls. Inside the fortress, there’s a magical Italian-style garden and an airy courtyard. Trequanda’s charm continues in two of its hamlets, Castelmuzio and Petroio, separated from the town only by lush olive groves.. And places like Montepulciano, Montisi, Catelmuzio, Pienza, Arezzo and Siena nearby where you will never have a dull moment.

Need-to-know information for guests at this property

Note that the standard cleaning and service fee of 350 EUR comes with 6 hours of cleaning during the week and 8 hours cleaning after guests have left (which is why guests generally come on Saturdays after 5 pm and leave before 9 am). Marco will be there 4 times a week for 2 hours taking care of the pool, the gardens and small maintenance matters. The guests can always ask him for extra help with groceries, cooking and driving around.

Please inform Podere Gli Oppi Toscana in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

Payment before arrival via bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions.
