17 acres of mostly manicured land in rural Jamaica. Hobby farmer of coconuts, oranges, otahiti apples, mangoes and other tropical fruits. Guests can hike or jog the paths created just for that purpose. Relax poolside and sip a beer or two or other beverages available for purchase.
Retired diplomat. Lived and worked on most continents of the world so traveling is a big interest, farming, volunteerism, theater (studied theater) politics, reading, yoga, cooking. Obviously meeting and interacting with peoples of different persuasions ranks high on my list of interests.
This is rural Jamaica- way off the beaten path. Though transportation can be arranged it’s useful to rent a car to move about at your leisure. The Black River Safari to see the native crocodiles is a big attraction, YS Falls is another wonderful experience. Not to mention a tour of Appleton Estate for lunch and to savor our famous Appleton Rum. And if hanging out on a reef in the middle of the Caribbean Sea sounds adventurous then Pelican Bar is your place- a trip usually paired with the crocodile tour on the Black River.
Black River is historically interesting and a tour to learn that it is the first parish on the island to be powered by electricity and more can be arranged with my friend and tour guide Allison Morris from “Way Back When”
Dinner can be had at any of the fish restaurants in Black River-Cloggy’s on the Beach or Las Vegas- or at the Jerk Center at Luana.
Sheryn will make you dinner too- check in with her upon arrival to see what’s on the menu and cost.
