This facility is a Japanese store that was built 100 years ago and is now being used as a jazz school. Accommodation is available to individuals other than students.
This facility is managed by jazz pianist Komay Shibata and his wife Yuki.
On the dining hall stage, a grand piano, drums, and double bass are set up for you to enjoy playing.
A lake and a hiking trailhead are located within a 10-minute walk.
At the lake, you can enjoy canoeing, fishing, and boat rides.
Breakfast is self-service, and we also cater to vegans. Barbecue is available in the garden.
We have a collection of replicas of first editions of Japanese literature from 100 to 70 years ago, which you are free to peruse.
Please visit our home and enjoy your time here.
Hello, my name is Komay Shibata, and I am a jazz pianist. I lived in America for ten years, where I studied jazz and enjoyed my days, thanks to the kind support from many people. I want to extend that same kind of support to everyone who visits Yoshino, ensuring you have a fun and secure time. I would be delighted if you could consider my home as your second home or even your family home. I eagerly look forward to your visit and hope to make your stay memorable.
From my house, a local restaurant is just a 10-minute walk away, open until 8 PM and popular among international visitors (closed on Tuesdays). Yoshino Mountain, famous for its spring cherry blossoms, is just a 10-minute drive and houses the national treasure Kinpusen-ji Temple among numerous other ancient temples and shrines. Tsufuru Lake, a 5-minute walk, offers beautiful views along with canoeing, fishing, and a suspension bridge. A hot spring located about 7 minutes by car is open until 6 PM, with a restaurant nearby. Furthermore, a traditional soy sauce and sake brewery, 10 minutes by car, offers tours on prior arrangement. A forest certified for therapeutic forest bathing is also just a 10-minute walk from the house.
