Live here like local Japanese do

I have lived in many places in Japan. Kirishima is a small city in the countryside, but it is a very peaceful area where time flows slowly. I opened this guesthouse because I wanted people to know the real life in this quiet area. I want many people to know the charm of this place! :)

【日本人の方へ】 ここのところ、説明文や写真をよく確認せずに安い料金だけを見て挨拶もなしに予約→しばらくして無言キャンセルをする方(ほとんどが中高年日本人)が急増しておりほんとうに迷惑しております。せっかく当宿に魅力を感じてくださっている方がその間予約できなかったりするのです。 当宿は通常のホテルなどと異なり「ホームステイ型」かつ国際交流等に興味・関心がある方が世界中から訪れてくださる、少し特殊で小さな民家の宿です。アップしてある写真を見ていただければ普通の宿と違うことがすぐに分かると思います。田舎の日本家屋が珍しくもない日本人にとって当宿がなんの魅力もないことは私も開業当初から重々承知しておりますので、旅行客のために造られた快適な宿を希望される方は別の施設をお探しくださいますようお願いいたします。こういった文言は書きたくなかったのですが、あまりにひどい状況が続いておりますため悩んだ末掲載することにいたしました。同じ日本人として非常に情けないです。予めご了承くださいませ。 【About type】 It's been 7 years since I started this little guest house here. This is a homestay type, where I, the owner, and other guests live together. Recommended for those who want to experience international exchange and the real atmosphere of the Japanese countryside. I hope you like your leisurely time here! :) 【About this house】 This small building built about 40 years ago is the first generation house made with new construction materials in our country. The house of that generation is losing popularity and is beginning to disappear. This house was also getting old and planned to demolish. However, this house is what my grandmother built at the end of her life. When I heard the story of demolition, I was very sad. I fixed this small, old house. And successfully passed the current standards set by country. 【About hot spring】 Because Kirishima is a hot spring resort, natural hot springs come out from the bath faucet. The ingredients are mainly sodium / bicarbonate, it is effective for stress symptoms, circulatory disorders, and many other diseases. Because it is a natural hot spring, temperature control is impossible. Please add water if necessary. Please be careful of burns. 【About bedding】 There is no bed. Like traditional Japanese houses, lay down a Futon(bedding in Japan) on a Tatami(General floor in Japan). Futon is a Japanese "single long" size. futon matress: 100cm×210cm coverlet futon: 150cm×210cm blanket: 140cm×200cm pillow: 43cm×63cm So it's a bit small. Please note.

Kirishima City has Kagoshima Airport, so access from other areas is convenient. It is located at the base of the Satsuma Peninsula and the Osumi Peninsula, making it easy to access both east and west. Surrounded by the Kirishima mountain range, which is full of beautiful spots, there is a calm inland sea where dolphins swim to the south. It is a very nice area where you can enjoy delicious food, hot springs, and rich nature. I hope you enjoy your stay here! :)
