Misenkan is in Tenkawa village in Nara prefecture. Tenkawa is a small village with more than 1,300 years of history. We are located far from Nara city and any other big cities. It’s seclusion has allowed us to preserve our traditional culture and blessed us with natural wonders. (please check transport access before booking!)
Our inn is facing the river. We don’t have an elevator in our inn. If you require assistance going up and down stairs, please let us know upon making the reservation.
The price includes two meals (dinner and breakfast), taxes, and a service charge. We provide delicious meals with ingredients obtained locally. For example, wild boar hot pot, roast venison, deep fried sweet fish, and tofu. This village is famous for its pure tasting water. Even the flavor of rice and tea are enhanced by the crisp water.
There is a special available for reservations made on Booking. Guests can enjoy a grilled “yamatonikudori”, which is a premium‐brand chicken from Nara; served for dinner. And a cup of coffee will be served after breakfast.
・At Misenkan, you can relax and enjoy food in the room with a tatami while wearing a yukata and listening to the sound of the river.
Experience a small inn with warm hospitality!
Our inn accommodates 4 groups and serves hearty home cooking. Although there are no luxurious facilities or equipment, each room has a flush-toilet and a hot water washbasin. A small open-air bath can be reserved for each room free of charge (for about 45 minutes). Tenkawa village is famous for its delicious water! At Misenkan, you can enjoy delicious cold "super soft water". There is no need to buy mineral water!
Tenkawa is a small mountain village and is said to be a sacred place that contains “power spots”, “where one’s heart returns to one’s self”. It is famous for being a place to start anew and reset. How about an opportunity to spend a relaxing time and reconsider your daily life while feeling the difference between water and air?
At the inn, you’ll meet a hostess who is always smiling and a master who is familiar with the nature and history of Tenkawa village. We will always try to provide warm hospitality to make your trip comfortable and full of enjoyable memories. We are looking forward to seeing you at Misenkan!
