Malindi is located on the Kenyan coast – famous for its white-sand beaches, clear blue sea, and swaying palm trees. Some of the best Malindi beaches include Casuarina Beach and Rosanda Beach, just a short drive away. Guests inMalindi can go on snorkelling and scuba-diving boat trips as well as try out a range of other watersports and activities. With direct flights from Malindi to the Masai Mara National Park, visitors can also use Malindi as a base for wildlife safaris. Malindi is the largest town in Kilifi County, with shops and supermarkets that provide all the essentials, and has many beachside restaurants. The town of Malindi also has several great restaurants, including the famous Bar Bar Restaurant & Pizzeria which is only around 10 minutes away on foot from Allamanda House. Visitors to Malindi can also easily visit other coastal towns, such as Watamu, which has several beautiful beaches and is only a 40-minute drive away. While in Watamu, visitors can visit the Gede Ruins to see the remains of an Arab-African settlement that was abandoned some 600 years ago. The ruins at Gede were rediscovered in the 1920s and became a national historical monument in 1927.
