Thayo means ‘peace’ in the local dialect and its location in Othaya, Nyeri County in Kenya lives up to this name as its tranquil atmosphere near the Aberdare mountain ranges immediately puts all who visit at ease. The villa has five (5) bedrooms and comfortably hosts 10 people as well as a separate room designated as a study or computer games room. It has a sizable dining room with countertop, lounge and verandah (patio) overlooking the lawn. Now you can get the best of both worlds with a modern facilities in a peaceful country-home setting. We also have facilities to cater for young families like a baby cot and baby high chair. Welcome to Thayo Place. I look forward to hosting you!

Othaya is renowned for tea-farming and the compound is partly surrounded by tea farms with a Tea Factory located less than 1 Km away making it an ideal location for agro-tourism. The immediate surroundings are suitable for hiking, biking and is a suitable stopover location for mountaineers looking to climb snow-capped Mt. Kenya which is the 2nd highest mountain in Africa. Nearby attractions include: Zuti Forest (2- 3 Km away) which hosts Thuti River, Gura River and Gikira Rivers within its boundaries, Mt. Kenya National Park (Naru Moru Base camp) – 63Km and Aberdare National Park Gate – 67 Km away among others.
