Das was an upcountry tea planter for nearly two decades who took pride in the work he did. Due to a turn of events, he had to leave planting and ventured into his own business as well as to other sectors. His desire in planting culminated in experimenting in growing cinnamon in Kataragama. He pioneered growing cinnamon in Katharagama, which is a dry zone area. Cinnamon now has become an alternative, environmentally friendly crop in the area. Indira is a retired medical practitioner. Most part of her career was dedicated to uplifting health and child care in the plantation sector. Thereafter, she joined the United Nations as a national consultant. We get great satisfaction by helping several underprivileged families and providing educational support to children in Mailagama.

To preserve the undisturbed calm of our surroundings, we have chosen not to install an in-house swimming pool. However, for those moments when a refreshing dip is desired, pool facilities can be arranged on request outside the guesthouse.
