This concrete and glass residence by Zozi & Elon is nestled within the tropical jungles of Kabalana, Sri Lanka. The building's raw concrete, iron construction is left exposed across the interiors, which are finished with neutral-coloured furnishings in a variety of textures. The art is nature itself, visible through ceiling to floor glass walls which encompass the structures. The villas were designed around the environment connecting them with their surroundings. Both villas and pool were build around beautiful palm trees and some interiors have indoor gardens creating an organic interaction between nature and the architectural elements. All the furniture in Tao house have been hand crafted and woven by local artisans using locally sourced materials in support of the local artisans & trades community. “We want our guest to feel immersed in the luxury of nature, while experiencing a certain level of comfort, design and simplicity.“

Hi! my name is Zozi, my husband Elon and I have been living between Sri Lanka and Israel for the past 5 years. I remember the first time I fell in love with this Island, it was trees. Rolling blankets of green tree tops, the calm resonance of pure nature. I fall in love each and every time i come back. That is what inspired us design Tao House the way we did. We wanted our guest to feel immersed in nature, while still experiencing the comforts of luxury.

Kabalana is known for its famous surf spot, The Rock, which has been attracting surfers for decades. Recently with the influx of foreign businesses it has become a very sought after destination for its cool little cafes, well designed restos, surf culture and friendly faces.
