On Sri Lanka’s wonderful south coast lies the beautiful bay of Mawella, here you’ll find ‘The Green House’, self catered, however breakfast, lunch or dinner can be arranged with 24 hours notice. Just 70 meters away from Mawella’s 1 Mile of crescent shaped beach of soft sand, palm trees and crystal clear water. Sitting behind Halcyon Mawella. Enjoy the Green House with its pool, terrace and facilities. You will see the beach as you open the gate, stroll down the quiet lane onto the soft sand for a body board, a swim or just sit and soak up its natural beauty. An amazing place for all ages. A optional breakfast can be provided each morning of your stay, between 8am and 10:30 Please inform our manager Rasitha your preferred time if you have booked with breakfast included. -Sri Lankan omelette or fried eggs. -hoppers and coconut roti served with coconut and onion sambol. Toast, jam, butter, a selection of fruit with yoghurt and your choice of tea, coffee, or fruit juice. Kindly note that we are primarily a self-catering villa. The cook will need access to the property to prepare breakfast and tidy up afterwards. We hope you enjoy :) We have 6 sun beds at the property, 3 bean bags. A outside table with 6 chairs + a table and 6 chairs on the roof terrace. There is a little shop to the right of the property about 30 meters away that does essentials for your convenience. We realise things come up that are out of our guests control which is why we have a relaxed cancellation policy and don't charge guests a prepayment. The Green House is set in a quiet village, a stones throw from Mawella beach. There is a growing array of amenities popping up in the village. A small shop out of the gate to the right that has essentials and more. The local supermarkets are Food City and Keels in Tangalle and Dickwella. At the end of the Lane there are various wonderful local family restaurants and boutique hotels, Halcyon, Sea Dragon restaurant, The Cocktails. A few small hotels with dining facilities, Isana, Taru Villas and the Tangalle social are a 2 minute walk. With a short tuk tuk ride on the tangalle road (A2) there is a diverse collection of little restaurants towards the city centre. Here you will find supermarkets and fish markets aplenty! Suggestions for tuk tuk drivers available on request or you can walk to the top of the road and hail your own. Another option is to travel 10 minutes in a tuk tuk to Hiriketiya and Dickwella where you will find lively restaurants and beach bars. Mawella Bay is a wonderful and unique beach where swimming can be done all year round. Body boarding is a must (you will find 4 adult boards and 2 Childrens boards at the house so please use them). It’s possible to lure fish, especially from the rocks to the left of the bay.
