Our apartments are new, with modern equipment, and they are located in a green oasis of orange, lemon, pomegranate, fig, and mimosa trees. The apartments are not far away from the main road connecting Risan with other towns of Montenegro, however, due to the large garden surrounding the objects, a calm and peaceful family-friendly atmosphere prevails.
The apartments are owned by Radmila and Dragan Ognjenović.
Radmila is a neurologist and a renowned member of Risan's "Vaso Ćuković" hospital collective. Dragan, a native of Risan, used to work for the Montenegrin national electric company (EPCG) until 2013. He is now retired, and spends most of his time enjoying his favorite hobbies: fishing, gardening, and barbecuing.
Their three children have a very diverse educational background: Jelena owns a degree in Mandarin Chinese language and literature, Sofija has a Bachelor's degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, while Radovan is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Political Science.
Every important location in Risan is withing a walking distance from our apartments. All of Risan's beaches are in our vicinity and they are easily accessible and open to the public. The nearest one is also the longest beach in the town, and it is located right on front of the now-defunct hotel "Teuta", 70 metres away from our place.
Risan has a lot to offer to people who like history and archaeology. The most important site are the Roman Mosaics (2nd century AD), recently turned into a small museum and art exhibition space. The "Carine" archaeological site is located right behind our apartments, and, among other things, it offers visitors a chance to see well-preserved antique coins, as well as remains of Illyrian royal palaces (discovered in 2016).
All of Risan is part of the Kotor-Risan Bay UNESCO World Heritage Site. The natural beauties of Risan include a laurel and oleander nature reserve and a rare hydrological phenomenon: Sopot waterfall. Sopot is only active after periods of heavy rainfall, when a subterranean lake overflows through a small cave in the karst rocks and flows into the Adriatic Sea, at the same time activating a set of hot water springs under the sea.
