Zebbug or Città Rohan is one of the oldest towns in Malta The Parish Church is dedicated to St. Philip. The word Zebbug means olives in Maltese, and so, the town gets its name from the large olive groves that use to stand around the current location of the town centre.
Haz-Zebbug was given the title of Città Rohan by Grandmaster Emmanuel de Rohan-Polduc in 1777. On such occasions, the locals used to build a gate to serve as an entrance to the city, and the people of Haz-Zebbug did the same. The gateway still stands today.
At Haz-Zebbug there are some very nice eateries, cafes as well as wine bars and of course, the social band clubs which are all worth a visit.
Food stores, banks, ATMs, pharmacies, doctors' clinics, buses and all amenities are all within walking distance. there is free on street parking on a first-come first-served basis. Parking should not be a problem and one can easily find a car parking space close by.
As for nightlife and entertainment, Gianpula Village is just a stone's throw away at more or less 1.5km, another option is Muddy Waters at the main square where there will be local bands playing live. Valletta is easily reached by bus and is 6km away. Paceville is at 8km.
