Welcome to my home, a beautiful old Maltese town house located in the heart of Mellieħa. This special place has a central courtyard with plants where you can relax, an underground chapel and 'il-kamra tal-majjistra' (the birth room) a place where women gave birth in the past). These features are unique to the heritage of Malta.
I’m a motivated procrastinator who has spent my entire life on the island. My days are filled with DIY projects, macrame, making jewelry, daydreaming, walking, and relaxing with friends. I have a variety of jobs on the island, so I’m always on the move. One of my jobs is at Ġugar Hangout & Bar, one of the best bars in Valletta. If you’re nearby, I highly recommend visiting—it’s a great spot where both locals and tourists gather in the evening.
I also enjoy traveling, attending gigs, sunny summer days, sleeping in my van, and people and their stories.
During your stay, I’d be happy to interact with you if our schedules align. My life can be either relaxed or hectic, depending on the moment.
Please note that my home is generally a calm space, and by sharing it with you, I’m also sharing a part of my life. I occasionally spend time at home with friends.
It’s important to me that my neighbors are respected. We have a lovely community here, made up of both locals and foreigners of all ages, and we support each other and enjoy engaging in meaningful conversations.
The house is situated right in the centre of Mellieħa, in a quiet street that leads to the main square. Part of the church is visible from the porch, if you have never been inside a Maltese church then you should peep in while you are here. Under the main church to the right, one can find the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mellieħa, a smaller church originated as a natural cave, with a byzantine-style fresco from the 12th century as an altarpiece. Further on from the sanctuary you can visit the Air Raid Shelters, one of the longest World War II bomb shelters, running half a km under the town, dug by a small group of diggers but offered refuge for all of Mellieħa's inhabitants.
The bus stop, cafes, bars, restaurants and convenience shops are a few steps away from the house.
Walking down the hill, you will get to Għadira Bay, a beautiful sandy beach facing east where early risers can catch the sunrise. Mellieħa, being the end of the island, boasts a beautiful coast, with rocky and sandy beaches all around. If you like hiking and adventures, Majjistral Park is 15 minutes away on foot. Opposite of the park, facing on the other side of the island is the Aħrax woodlands, where one can explore beautiful cliffs, small hidden swimming spots and caves.
Both ferries to the other islands of Gozo and Comino are a 10 minute car ride away.
