Located close to the Balgue/Santa Cruz there are a number of activities and restaurants nearby. You can hike a volcano, stop by a coffee shop, or take a chocolate tour. While there are things to do within walking distance of the house and local busses pass, keep in mind Ometepe is a large island, and taxi service is expensive. If you wish to explore more than a tiny area of it we recommend you either come in your own vehicle or rent one while you are here.
