Two separate stylish double rooms only steps away from the historic Noorderkerk (Northern Church) in the heart of Amsterdam’s fashionable Jordaan. The “Rose Room” and the “Gold Room” are on the SECOND FLOOR of an elegant 18th-19th-century house in the quiet and quaint Boomstraat (Tree Street) in the Jordaan, which borders on Amsterdam’s Centrum. The beautifully-appointed, newly restored rooms each have their own spacious private bathroom.

I’m originally from Brisbane, Australia and have been living in Europe for almost forty years. In 1993, I opened Galerie Boomering on the ground floor of this Boomstraat house, specializing in Australian Indigenous art. The gallery continues to operate, now also exhibiting works by international artists. Over the last few years, both the house and gallery have been totally renovated to honor the glorious Art Deco history of the original architecture.

The Jordaan is a 15-minute walk from central station, and is situated between the picturesque Brouwersgracht, bordering the famous Prinsengracht or Princes’ Canal and the Marnixkade The area is well known for its art galleries, innovative design shops, fashion boutiques, chic restaurants and historical sites, including the Anne Frank House, the ‘9 straatjes’ (nine little streets) and the magnificent Westerkerk (Western Church). The Saturday Lindengracht market (food, clothing, and vintage items) and Noordermarkt market (organic foods) and Monday’s Noordermarkt market (antiques and vintage clothing), are around the corner from Amsterdam-bnb.
