Right in the historic city center of Zierikzee, on the beautiful Havenpark, is the former patrician house of Job Baster; one of the most famous inhabitants from the rich history of Zierikzee. In the last century, several general practitioners have kept their practice here. We have transformed the former practice space into a spacious apartment of 55 m2, which we offer fully furnished for rent. The apartment can be rented for at least two consecutive nights, per week, per month or several months in consultation. The apartment is located on the ground floor next to our own house. We do not provide breakfast. There is always coffee and tea and accessories available. You can use the kitchen to prepare your own breakfast.
Pets are allowed in mutual consultation.
My name is Brian van Geer and I was born (1979) and raised in Zierikzee. In 2017 I took over the house, in which the Job Baster Guesthouse is located, from my parents. My father was a general practitioner and I transformed the former general practice into an independent apartment. I rent this apartment in addition to my full-time job. I work in Rotterdam and am regularly not present on location. It is therefore the intention that you check in yourself using a key safe. The property has a shared entrance hall with two private entrance doors: one for the house and one for the apartment.
Besides my job and renting out the Job Baster Guesthouse, I rent out a number of other apartments in the center of Zierikzee (rbwoningen.nl) and I am a co-parent. So I have several issues that require my attention, which is why I am unfortunately not able to welcome all guests personally, but you will feel welcome and if you have any questions, I am always available / reachable by phone, e-mail or Whatsapp.
Wishing you a pleasant stay.

Due to growing prosperity and prestige, the city of Zierikzee was granted renewed city rights by King Willem II on 11 March 1248. After the medieval period of prosperity disaster followed by fires, ship disasters, epidemics and floods. The 17th century was characterized by an aftermath of trade and fishing. Subsequently, stagnation occurred during the course of the 18th century and the number of inhabitants declined very drastically.
The major industrial developments largely passed Zierikzee. In contrast to other cities, old buildings were saved. Today, Zierikzee, with around 11,150 inhabitants, is the administrative headquarters of the new municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland and has a central function there. In the historic city center with many shops and cozy terraces, it is good for both tourists and residents.
