The apartment is in situated in a very unique building. The building dates from 1450 and has a long long history. This history is published in a book, which is free for all guests. Although very old, it has state of the art technology and facilities.
Pieter is a fan of solar energy, heatpumps and all kind of energy technology. After working as a CEO in the automation, now he's starting up his own energy consulting firm. Monica is a teacher and organizes internships for high school students.
Haarlem center is a lively and beautiful area with lots of charm. You´ll find here small streets with nice little shops, restaurants around every corner, several unique museums (b.e. Teylers Museum and Frans Hals Museum), a working windmill and the big market square with St.Bavo church. The beautiful Spaarne river flows along the center and offers a nice scenery with boats, vessels and canoe´s, historic bridges and beautiful riverside buildings.
