The immediate proximity of the Oosterschelde is palpable. This is visible in the use of materials in and around the house, where shells and typical Zeelandic plants can be found. The Zeelandic light and sea breeze are tempered by the scattered groups of trees and hedges. The landscape of creeks, polders, and vistas is embraced in the park and brought to the house. A creek winds through a green grass carpet, and the green character is even visible in the pavements.
Everywhere there is a sense of peace and space, which you can enjoy in a luxurious and fully equipped holiday home with 3, 4 or 6 bedrooms. The living room is spacious with an open kitchen equipped with an induction hob, dishwasher, oven with microwave, and fridge with freezer compartment. Adjacent is an outdoor terrace. Two cars can be parked at the houses, but they do not stand out in the green park landscape due to their placement.
Experience quality and comfort in Zeelandic style. The homes are almost energy-neutral with a heat pump and solar panels. This is the future of responsible recreation, with respect for the environment and nature. Holiday park Wulpdal is fireworks-free.
Our hostess and park manager Miranda warmly welcomes you and acquaints you with the park, your accommodation, and the surroundings. Born and raised in Sint-Maartensdijk, she knows the island of Tholen inside out. Miranda loves it when everything is well-organized, enjoys coming up with solutions, and finds great pleasure in being there for her guests. In her free time, Miranda enjoys walking along the dyke with her dogs Peanut and Cookie, two Basset Hounds.
The island of Tholen is an undiscovered piece of Zeeland. Here lies the new holiday park Wulpdal, situated next to the largest National Park in the Netherlands, the Oosterschelde, and the wooded nature reserve de Pluimpot. The Pluimpot is a former side channel of the Oosterschelde leading to the picturesque villages of Sint-Maartensdijk and Scherpenisse. Due to the interplay of sun, wind, and water, the nature here is always changing, with cozy beaches, creeks and dikes, winding polder roads, and expansive fields. This is a paradise for nature lovers, seeking peace and space. An extensive network of hiking and biking trails winds along the coastline and through nature reserves and picturesque villages.
The old center of Sint-Maartensdijk boasts no less than 27 national monuments, including the Gothic Maartenskerk and the old Town Hall. At the historic market, there are two supermarkets, a Lidl and a Spar. Additionally, there's a bakery, butcher, drugstore, and post office. On Friday afternoons, there is a weekly market. Dining out is possible at our brasserie De Zeester, with enchanting views of the Oosterschelde. Within walking distance is Restaurant Smaek. You can also find fries and snacks, farm ice cream, or freshly baked kibbeling nearby.
Holiday park Wulpdal has a playing field with swings. In the adjacent park, you are welcome to visit the new activity hall for fun bowling, an indoor playground, and the X-Wall. Here you can also enjoy indoor padel, fitness, and wellness. Within walking distance is an ideal beach for children. Strand Gorishoek is easily manageable with a length of 150 meters and is shielded from the tidal water of the Oosterschelde by a low dam. Swimming and playing are also possible in the heated outdoor pool of Sint-Maartensdijk, surrounded by a large lawn. Regardless of the weather, children can enjoy climbing, crawling, and playing at Monkey Town in Halsteren.
