Despite the central spot, the street is calm and quiet. The apartment is located in the best area of Bergen, right in the heart of the city’s most picturesque and historic neighborhood. The building sits in one of the charming narrow alleyways (smau) that Bergen is so famous for – quiet, cozy, and full of character. You’re just steps away from Bryggen, Fløibanen, the fish market, cafés, restaurants, shops, and public transport – yet the surroundings feel calm and authentic, like a hidden gem in the city. The apartment itself is up just two flights up from the entrance. The building has five apartments, and I live on the top floor myself. The entrance is at street level with no stairs, so you can easily roll in strollers, or luggage and store them in the shared hallway.
