This self contained shack is the perfect place to unplug from technology and unwind (great cellphone reception if needed)
The space:
A small kitchenette and an outdoor BBQ for all your cooking needs. There is a covered deck which is sheltered from the wind with an outdoor heater to keep you cosy if the weather is a little chilly.
The outdoor fire pit makes for a great spot to spend the evening, nestled next to the shack with views to the beach. There are wool blankets to wrap up in around the fire to keep toasty if the evening cools down.
There is plenty to do to keep you busy, explore the beach and rocky coastline, take a walk to the famous Jacks Blowhole located behind the shack, keep entertained with games available or simply relax and take in the scenery and native wildlife.
Don't forget your swimwear! Be courageous with an early morning dip in the cool sea for amazing health benefits. There are 2 kayaks available for use during your stay along with life jackets. The ocean is often calm enough for a paddle to explore offshore. Beach towels are also provided.

Sealions bask in the sun on the beach during the day, Tui enjoy eating the Harakeke flax pods, cheeky Fantail flit around amongst a myriad of other bird species. Yellow-eyed penguins make their way back to their nests on dusk. Hear the cries of the Little Blue penguin after nightfall, but you won't catch a glimpse of these illusive creatures. Farmland surrounds the Bay with stock grazing in nearby paddocks.
Owaka township is a 10 minute drive away, located in the heart of the Catlins. There are two cafés, takeaway, pub and Four Square.
